Rookie driver 14 year old Jeb Walworth took home his second NYMM victory of he '06 season Friday night at the Black Rock Speedway. 25 cars packed into the Rock, as the fans were treated to an amazing show. Four heats of the Winged Warriors marched out onto the track going green-to-green in all 4 heats. Ben Kysor (40), Scott Kreutter (52), Ron Gamble (27), and Dan Miller (17) won their respected heats. The feature saw the 2 of Timex Morgan and the B17 of Randy Brokaw on the polls. Morgan jumped out to an early lead, while Brokaw found himself in the infield on lap 3 with a leaky fuel cell and a flat left rear. On the following restart, Timex once again opened up his lead. He remained unchallenged until 8 laps to go when another caution, and allowed Scott Kreutter to close the gap. But it was Timex who got the jump and pulled away from the NYMM Series points champion Kreutter. Unfortunately what seemed like a for-sure win for Timex turned ugly when Timex and a lap car go together in turns 3 and 4 allowing Kreutter to not only pull in Timex, but pass him as Timex was trapped down low. Lap 17 saw another caution, but it wouldn't be Timex or Kreutter prevailing. Jeb Walworth took to the outside on a bold move in turns 3 and 4, not only leaving Timex ad Kreutter battling down low but leaving them behind jumping out to the lead. From 3rd to 1st in a blink of an eye. Kreutter would eventually fall into the second spot, with Timex finishing in 3rd. Jeremy Frankowski (F14) finished just ahead of the 40 driven by Ben Kysor finishing out the top 5. It was a great night of racing. Thanks to the whole Black Rock crew for doing a great job! We look forward to coming back. Don’t forget tomorrow the NYMM Series is back at it visiting the Paradise Speedway in Geneva New York.
